The character and the costume
Tifa Lockhart is one of the most iconic characters in Final Fantasy VII, known for her strength, agility, and determination. In Final Fantasy VII Remake, her design has been reworked with incredible detail, blending modern aesthetics with her classic look. Her outfit features a sleek, form-fitting double top, a pleated black skirt with intricate patterns, and armored gauntlets that emphasize her fighter vibe.
For my Tifa cosplay, I aimed for maximum accuracy, capturing hundreds of in-game screenshots to ensure every detail was faithfully reproduced. From the engraved runes on her armor to the subtle decorations on her skirt, every element was meticulously crafted to stay true to the game. Whether it’s the texture of the fabrics, the precise placement of accessories, or the dynamic feel of the costume, my goal was to bring Tifa to life as authentically as possible.

Tifa cosplay Tutorial
Tifa Lockhart’s costume from Final Fantasy VII Remake is a mix of structured materials, layered fabrics, and detailed armor pieces. To achieve an accurate look, I carefully selected materials that matched the in-game textures. Every element, from the materials to the smallest decorations, was carefully studied using in-game screenshots to create the most faithful Tifa Lockhart cosplay possible.
The skirt and straps are made of multiple rigid faux leather to maintain the shape while allowing movement.
I modified simple ankle boots with five different fabrics to ricreate different textures, recolored for accuracy.
The top consists of two overlapping layers, one black and one white.
The arm and hand armor pieces are crafted from EVA foam, remaining lightweight and comfortable to wear while the bracelets were 3D printed for precision, and the Materia were made using colored resin to achieve the translucent effect seen in the game.
Metal studs and details add realism, while the fully styled wig completes the look.
