The character and the costume
San, better known as Mononoke Hime, is a fierce young warrior raised by wolves in a mystical forest. She stands as a protector of nature, embodying wild strength, independence, and deep loyalty. Her iconic red mask and fur pelt symbolize her bond with the wolves and her fight to defend the forest.
For her white and blue dress, I chose natural fibers: a mix of linen and cotton to give the costume a more authentic and organic feel. The cape is made from synthetic fur in double side. All accessories and props, including the dagger and mask, are entirely handcrafted by me using PVC, wood, and EVA foam.

Mononoke Hime Cosplay Tutorial
I created this costume entirely from scratch, combining different techniques and materials to achieve an organic look with layered textures. The main components include cotton, linen, synthetic fur, EVA foam, foam clay, PVC, wood, and beads, each chosen to bring out a balance between authenticity and durability.
For now, I’ve kept the costume in a “clean” version, but I’m planning to develop an alternate look with weathering, dirt, and blood effects to reflect the raw and battle side of San.
