The character and the costume

Lara Croft has always been one of my favorite heroines in gaming. Strong, athletic, intelligent, and fearless, she faces challenges with determination and never gives up when things get difficult. Her adventurous spirit and resilience are some of the reasons I have admired her character for so many years.
I created this cosplay as soon as I saw the first trailer for Legacy of Atlantis, without waiting for the game’s release because I was immediately excited by the design. At the time, only limited reference material was available, and by the second trailer some elements of the outfit had already changed. For this reason, I plan to update and refine the costume once the game is released, using the final in-game version as the definitive reference.

For this project, I decided to start from second-hand clothing and modify them to match the trailer design. The top, pants, and boots were all adapted: for example the pants were taken in by about 10 cm at the waist and shortened to achieve the correct proportions.
The backpack, also purchased second-hand, was reworked. I adjusted the straps and buckles and added the chest harness seen in the trailer. Unfortunately, when scaled to my body size, it still feels larger than it should, so I plan to remake it entirely from scratch once more definitive references become available.
I 3D-modeled Lara’s necklace from scratch, then printed and finished it by hand. For the pistols, I used a free Colt 1911 model as a base, which I 3D printed and refined.
The belt, straps, and holsters were created entirely from scratch. However, their design already changed in the second trailer, so these parts will also need updates to become fully reference-accurate once the game is released.
For once, I chose to use my own hair, adding extensions to gain a few extra centimeters for Lara’s braid.
