The character and the costume

Korra from The Legend of Korra remains one of my personal favorite character ever. Although her Season 4 outfit shares the familiar blue and brown palette, not a single piece is identical to the Season 1 version, making this an entirely new cosplay rather than a variation.
For the first photoshoots, I captured real water effects to represent waterbending (no editing or IA!)). A second shoot featured UV lighting and colors to highlight Raava’s back tattoo, creating an atmospheric look true to Korra’s spiritual evolution.

This costume is built on extensive material recycling and a long search for the right blue fabrics. The arm warmers and the soft blue trim on the skirt were sewn using the very last scraps of fabric originally purchased seven years earlier for my Rena Salvatore Denip costume. The synthetic fur was repurposed from my Yuna Berserker supplies.
The skirt fabric and the boot-strap material are my favorites: a synthetic double-faced faux suede with a fantastic texture that feels almost real, despite being challenging to sew. The belt buckle is crafted from rigid plastic.
