The character and the costume

Akali, the Rogue Assassin, is a deadly and elusive warrior from the League of Legends universe. Trained by the Kinkou Order, she later abandoned their teachings to forge her own path as a lone vigilante.
There are many variations of Akali’s base skin, and depending on the reference used, details such as colors, shapes, decorations, hairstyle, and weapon size can change significantly. I mainly based mine on the image on the left.
I initially thought this would be a simple costume, but it required much more attention and time than I expected. I made the entire cosplay myself, including the wig, weapons, tailored outfit, and accessories.

Akali cosplay Tutorial

This Akali cosplay took over 300 hours of work, including planning, spread across about eight months.
I styled the wig starting from a simple black base, adding a ponytail and setting everything in place with spray lacquer. The outfit is mainly made of taffeta and velvet, with many embroidered details done using a basic sewing machine.
The smoke bomb holder on her back is made of eva foam, as are the weapons, which are also detachable for easier storage and transport.
Many other cosplayers have taken inspiration from my Akali costume, especially my unusual fabric choice and the decorative details on the pants. These elements were particularly appreciated and have been replicated by several people!
